This post is all about these 7 genuine Sunday habits to have a productive week.

I think we all like to enjoy our weekends, especially Sundays, as much as possible since they feel so short compared to the rest of the week. We all enjoy using our time to enjoy the peace and the opportunity to not have to worry about work/school-related stuff.
But then the week comes, faster than we wished for and if we are being honest, less prepared than we would like to be. We start the week, still longing for the weekend ou regretting the little number of tasks we had planned to carry out but never did.

In this article, I will share with you 7 genuine Sunday habits to have a productive and organized week, but don´t worry about time because this reset routine is the perfect balance to prepare and organize your next week, while still having time to enjoy and relax your last day of the weekend.

Let´s start!

7Genuine sunday habits to have a productive week

No time to read now, pin it for later!

Plan your week

There are weeks when the time feels like it´s slipping through our fingers. There seems to be an enormous pile of to do-things and little time to accomplish them.

Well, the best way to avoid this feeling, along with the stress and anxiety that brings, is to plan your week.
If you are obsessed with planning, like me, you may do this naturally. If you are not, give it a chance because I promise you it will change your life and the way you face your week.

The first step to planning your week would be to review your calendar and check if there are any important appointments or tasks already scheduled.

Once you have a general idea of how the week is going to look like, it is time to write down all the things you need to accomplish this week.

Here are a couple of things to have in mind when planning your week:

-Intentions: write down any specific objective that you want to accomplish in the next few days (drinking more water every day, exercising more often, eating healthier…).

-Habit tracker

-Important meetings

Chores like grocery shopping, washing your car, taking the dog out…

how to plan your week

I want to share with you a little tip that will for sure make you have a productive week. Once you have checked your calendar and written your to-do list, divide this tasks list into smaller ones.

In other words, start by choosing one of the tasks you have established previously and divide this big task into smaller ones, including all the necessary steps you must take to accomplish them.

Once you have this long to-do list, literally schedule them into your calendar or planner. Not only because scheduling this task will make it easier for you to carry them out, but because to-do lists tend to stay on paper.

To put an example, if this week you have the goal to read one book, you could make this bigger task into a smaller to-do list by looking at your daily routine and planning where you could fit some reading time. It could be a couple of minutes or pages every day, or a couple of hours once a week. Think about your daily routine and how could you accomplish this task.

This tip is extremely useful and important not only because it forces you to take the time to plan and makes it easier for you to accomplish your objectives. But also because when we set our minds to do something, we may feel overwhelmed or unmotivated because of how big accomplishing this task seems. However, by dividing your goal into smaller tasks your mind finds it easier to complete them, lowering the chances for you to sabotage yourself.

How to have a productive week. Don’t forget about your goals

Some of us have the bad habit of writing and planning our goals with such motivation and determination, to then forget about them a week later.

Sundays are the perfect opportunity to review your long-term goals and vision board, to see where you stand regarding your goals, and what things could you do this week to bring you a step closer to achieving your objectives.

Remember that there is no path without direction and that no one but YOU can make your goals and dreams come true!

Journaling is essential to have a productive week

As useful as it is to plan your week based on your goals, the tasks, and the appointments you have scheduled, it is also important to take care of your emotional and mental self.

And the best way to do this is by journaling and reflecting on your emotions and intentions.

Here you have an extremely helpful outline with a couple of questions to ask yourself before the week begins:

Weekly journal prompts

These questions will even help you become the best version of yourself by setting out how you want to feel throughout the week, what kind of habits you would like to eliminate from your daily routine, and what new things would you like to incorporate.

Here are some more journal prompts if you want to dive deeper into this practice:

-Which habits do you currently have, that make you feel good?

-Currently, what are you´re three biggest goals?

-Are you living in a way that reflects the person you want to be?

-If you kept living your life the way you are now, would you become the person you want to be?

-How can you make this week awesome?

Take care of basic chores

This task, even though it is the longest of the list and the one most of us try to avoid, it is also one of the most important.

The environment that surrounds us, has a great impact on our emotional state and our mindset. Whether you work from home or at an office, it is always pleasant to come home or disconnect from work and find yourself in a clean and organized space.

Chores, like organizing your space, changing your sheets, vacuuming your home, and cleaning your work area, not only put you in a more productive mindset, but they also make us feel less anxious and stressed.

In addition to all of these benefits, having an organized space, somehow makes other areas of your life fall into place.

Check your bank account

Another important area of our lives and task that I´m sure most of us don´t do enough. Checking your bank account will help you keep control of your money as well as your expenses throughout the week.

I encourage you to make sure every week you check your bank account and financial statements, especially if you have financial-related goals. This will help you work towards your objectives with more confidence and a successful mindset.

Take care of yourself to have a productive week

No organization or habit will prepare us for the week if we don´t properly rest and take the time to recharge our batteries.

Weekends are the perfect opportunity to take care of yourself. Plan things that make you happy and feel in syntony with your highest self. It could be reading, baking, going out for a walk, meeting with your friends, meditating…

How to have a productive week using affirmation

And the last, but not the least important step is affirmations.

Affirmations are sentences used to reprogram our subconscious mind. They can also be used to make us believe certain things about ourselves and the world or environment surrounding us.

Affirmations are also used as a way to manifest the things we want in our life (wealth, love, happiness, relationships…). Affirmations are part of a method called autogestion.

Autosuggestion is a technique of control through which we can voluntarily feed our subconscious with motivating and empowering thoughts.

In other words with the repetition of this method, you can voluntarily create thought habits in your subconscious that favor your efforts to create the life of your dreams.

Here´s the thing though, the tricky part of this method is that it´s not enough with reading these motivational sentences. Because for a thought to record in the subconscious, it MUST be accompanied by a strong emotion. This means that when we read our affirmations out loud, we need to combine them with a feeling.

Don´t be scared, this is fairly easy to do. You simply have to read your affirmations and think about the emotions and feeling they evoke in you, let yourself be carried away by these feelings, by how they make you feel, and how do they influence your life.

You may be asking yourself why I am telling you all of these. Well, because the last Sunday habit consists of creating a series of affirmations for the week, based on how you want to feel and the objectives you have set for yourself.

Why? To motivate yourself to accomplish all the goals you have set for yourself as well as create the right mindset to achieve them.

For example- “I make all the right moves to achieve my goals”.
“I live in a healthy and empowering surrounding”.
“I have all the tools I need to accomplish all of my goals”.
“I am strong and powerful”.
“I attract abundance in all areas of my life”.
“Today I choose to heal and nourish my body”.

Don´t forget to read out loud your affirmations at least once a day, preferably in the morning to start the day with an empowered and successful mindset, and to always combine your affirmations with emotions for them to successfully record in your subconscious.

Bouns habit: How to productively plan your days

Even though this habit is not part of this Sunday routine, I find it one of the most helpful and effective habits that I have implemented in my morning routine.

And that is to write my top three priorities of the day, the three tasks that if I accomplished today would make the day a success. Just three.

When we create a to-do list, even if we divide those bigger tasks into smaller ones, it can sometimes feel overwhelming to wake up on Mondays and face the week. One of the best ways to face these negative feelings during the week is to take them little by little instead of trying to do everything at once.

That is why I (and I think you will too) find it so helpful to every morning establish my top three priorities of the day.

I hope you enjoyed these 7 genuine Sunday habits to have a productive week!

Don’t feel pressured to do every step on this list, focus on the ones that resonate the most with you and spark your interest. Remember that you ARE worthy of even your deepest desire!
